About William "B.A" Ancar
William "B.A" Ancar is a veteran of two foreign wars and a former responder on some of the last generation's defining humanitarian crises — four hurricanes, Katrina among them, the Haitian earthquake, and the Deepwater Horizon response. He has spent time inside institutions at the exact moment they were tested past their limits, watching firsthand what holds and what doesn't when the systems people depend on are pushed to failure. That experience — not research, not theory — is the real foundation underneath Kingsland.
He holds a business degree, earned cum laude with minors in philosophy and economics, from Loyola University New Orleans, and an MBA from Tulane University. For the last twenty years he has worked as an entrepreneur and consultant to companies in construction, energy, and oil and gas — building things, fixing things, and learning up close how leadership actually functions when the stakes are real and the margin for error is thin. Readers of Kingsland will recognize that instinct in King Thomas, the trilogy's business-first monarch, who owes more to the author's own career than to any history book.
When he's not writing, Bill is usually outdoors — boating, hiking, camping, or chasing a better round of golf — or indoors chasing something else entirely: his real passion is the arts, from museum galleries to the symphony to the theater, the kind of storytelling that has nothing to do with plot and everything to do with feeling.
Kingsland draws its DNA from the authors who taught him that scale and intimacy aren't opposites — Ken Follett's sweeping, generations-deep sagas, Robert Harris's patient, procedural political tension, and George R. R. Martin's sprawling multi-house intrigue all left fingerprints on these three books. Bill set out to write the kind of trilogy that earns comparisons to all three: a story built on real institutions, real stakes, and the uncomfortable question of what stability actually costs.
He lives and writes from the world he built — Kingsland itself began as a passion project before it became a trilogy, and it's still growing.
